The Mid*Lands Independent Institutional Review Board (IRB) has been conducting business since 1981. The IRB is comprised of highly qualified and dedicated members with over 120 years of combined ethical review experience in reviewing all phases of clinical research.

The IRB’s President & Chief Operating Officer is a Certified IRB Professional (CIP). The certification program is overseen by the Council for Certification of IRB Professionals (CCIP).  She is also a Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP).  This certification is overseen by the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).

The IRB is affiliated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health, a requirement for reviewing research in Massachusetts. This allows the IRB to review studies in all states.

The IRB conducts weekly meetings and has the flexibility to meet more often, if required. Results of the meetings are processed within 24 hours.

Expedited Reviews are handled within 24 to 48 hours.
